Feeding for the first time can be a nerve racking experience. Even doing it second time around I felt myself fumbling around for my muslin, and checking if any one could see my nipple. As time went on I didn't give it a second thought, I’ve fed my little one everywhere! Except a public toilet…I will never do that again. It gets easier every time and having someone with me for those first few trips out made it so much easier! A few tips if you’re feeding for the first time in public.
💙 Take someone supportive with you. This could be your partner family member or friend (who will be supportive and help if you get flustered). If you can go with a mum who is also breastfeeding can help so so much
💙 Feed somewhere you feel comfortable. Try and find a comfy seat with back support for your first time.
💙 Don’t be phased be strangers looking some people might. You are feeding your baby! Take your time if you show some flesh or Muslin or apron comes down. This is if you choose to cover up. There is no musts. Remember your not exposing yourself you are feeding your baby!
💙 Don’t be put off of the first time doesn’t go the way you imagined. It never does! Keep at it, it becomes second nature.
